    Atridox ®
    Generic : Doxycycline Hyclate

    Atridox® is subgingival controlled release drug,composed of two syringe mixing system.Mixed composition is a yellow viscous liquid with 10% doxycycline concentration.

    Active Ingredients :

    >Doxycycline Hyclate
    A synthetic tetracycline derivative with similar antimicrobial activity. Animal studies suggest that it may cause less tooth staining than other tetracyclines.

    Inactive Ingredients :
    >Atrigel® delivery system

    Pharmacologic Action :
    >Antibacterial agent

  • Use in Dentistry :
    Atridox is indicated for use in the treatment of chronic adult periodontitis for a gain in clinical attachment, reduction in probing depth,and reduction in bleeding on probing. In vitro testing has shown that Porphyromonas gingivalis,Bacteroides forsythus,Prevotella intermedia,Camphylobacter rectus and Fusobacterium nucleatum which are associated with periodontal disease are susceptible to doxycycline.

  • Porphyromonas gingivalis :
    A species of gram-negative, anaerobic, rod-shaped bacteria originally classified within the bacteroides genus. This bacterium produces a cell-bound, oxygen-sensitive collagenase and is isolated from the human mouth.
